Uniqueness of the Riemann minimal examples

We prove that a properly embedded minimal surface in R of genus zero with in®nite symmetry group is a plane, a catenoid, a helicoid or a Riemann minimal example. We introduce the language of Hurwitz schemes to understand the underlying moduli space of surfaces in our setting.

Failure of n-uniqueness: a family of examples

In this paper, the connections between model theory and the theory of infinite permutation groups (see [9]) are used to study the n-existence and the n-uniqueness for n-amalgamation problems of stable theories. We show that, for any n ≥ 2, there exists a stable theory having (k+ 1)-existence and k-uniqueness, for every k ≤ n, but that does not have neither (n + 2)existence nor (n + 1)-uniquenes...

Bivariate Uniqueness and Endogeny for Recursive Distributional Equations : Two Examples

In this work we prove the bivariate uniqueness property for two “maxtype” recursive distributional equations which then lead to the proof of endogeny for the associated recursive tree processes. Thus providing two concrete instances of the general theory developed by Aldous and Bandyopadhyay [3]. The first example discussed here deals with the construction of a frozen percolation process on a i...

this experimental study has been conducted to test the effect of oral presentation on the development of l2 learners grammar. but this oral presentation is not merely a deductive instruction of grammatical points, in this presentation two hypotheses of krashen (input and low filter hypotheses), stevicks viewpoints on grammar explanation and correction and widdowsons opinion on limited use of l1...

Uniqueness and non-uniqueness of chains on half lines

We establish a one-to-one correspondence between one-sided and two-sided regular systems of conditional probabilities on the half-line that preserves the associated chains and Gibbs measures. As an application, we determine uniqueness and non-uniqueness regimes in one-sided versions of ferromagnetic Ising models with long range interactions. Our study shows that the interplay between chain and ...
